2026 Human Resources Internship

About Community Bridges:

Community Bridges is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Concord, NH and the Lakes Region. We offer internships to students, graduate students, and recent graduates with demonstrated interest or experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Each internship includes an educational component, through which interns contextualize their experience and reflect on their service.

Internship Details:

  • All internships are unpaid and correspond roughly with the US semester system.
  • Summer Internship: June 2026 – August 2026
  • Fall Internship: September 2026 – December 2026
  • First consideration is given to applicants that can commit at least 16 hours per week over the course of the semester outlined above.
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of whether their schedule fits the semester system; Community Bridges makes exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
  • Slots fill quickly and candidates are encouraged to apply earlier than the requested date above.
  • Please note that this internship will be a hybrid format, meaning that some in-person hours at our Concord, NH office are required.

Human Resources Internship Overview:

The Human Resources intern will work closely with Community Bridges HR Manager and the HR team to learn about and assist with recruiting, training, and compliance initiatives that support teams across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about HR’s involvement in strategic planning at a growing non-profit. In this role, you will gain hands-on HR skills alongside a collaborative and supportive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting/staffing initiatives, including:
    • Attending career fairs and community events
    • Organizing new hire paperwork
    • Streamlining job description database project
  • Tag-team with HR staff member in delivering new hire orientation
  • Compile training checklists for internship positions
  • Create and update trainings via PowerPoint
  • Conduct regular internal audits with HR team to ensure continued compliance
  • Support company-wide wellness initiatives via content creation, event attendance, and advertising
  • Draft internal guides for HR department
  • Other projects and duties as assigned and dependent upon intern’s educational goals

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Interest in Human Resources
  • Interest in advocacy and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Ability to work respectfully in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to switch gears quickly
  • Professional, discretion, and maturity in dealing with confidential information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of HR databases and systems a plus
