Job Summary:
This year-round internship, under limited supervision, involves performing a variety of quality billing functions and related activities to support the Billing and Vendor Payables teams. The intern will engage in diverse duties within the Quality Billing Team, focusing on developing new skills in process automation and contributing to an excellent customer experience. This role provides practical, field-relevant experience prior to college graduation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop process automation tools using technologies such as Python, SQL, VBA, and APIs.
  • Enhance and maintain existing Python programs and other automation tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and iteratively develop user-accepted products.
  • Design and develop robust, maintainable, and easily enhancible automation tools.
  • Timely address and resolve bugs and issues within Python programs, SQL queries, and other tools.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for new and existing process automation tools and processes.
  • Assist in identifying issues, evaluating solutions, and recommending optimal resolutions.
  • Track issues to successful resolution, both within the department and in collaboration with other teams.
  • Monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of projects and daily tasks.
  • Contribute to special projects within the assigned department or as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Work collaboratively to identify potential risks during the implementation of new or changed processes.
  • Utilize a standard process for quality software development, from requirements gathering to deployment, tracking progress meticulously.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and currently pursuing an accredited Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar relevant field.
  • Experience: No prior work experience is required.
  • Required Skills & Abilities:
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently, gather and analyze information skillfully.
    • Aptitude for developing alternative solutions, collaborating effectively in group problem-solving, and maintaining reason in challenging situations.
    • Adaptability to changes in the work environment, including adjusting methods to suit situations and handling frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
    • Proficiency in writing understandable code with good comments and a design that facilitates future enhancements, easy bug-fixing, and code re-use.
    • Beginner to intermediate skills in Python.
    • Beginner to intermediate skills in SQL.
    • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Excel environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This role has no direct supervisory duties.
  • Other Requirements: Must live and work in the US. No certificates, licenses, or registrations required.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Remote Role.
  • Schedule: This is a year-round role.
    • Summer: 40 hours per week (for training).
    • During the School Year: 15-20 hours per week.

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $16-$19.50 per hour. The specific salary offered may vary based on relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
