Key Responsibilities:
As a Builder/Construction Management Intern, you will be immersed in various facets of the homebuilding process, gaining practical experience that will lay the groundwork for a successful career. Your responsibilities will include:
Comprehensive Project Lifecycle Exposure: Gaining familiarity with the entire homebuilding process, from initial pre-contract stages through construction completion and post-close activities.
Customer Care & Warranty Management: Actively participating in the warranty process, which involves processing warranty requests, addressing customer concerns, and ensuring exceptional post-sale service.
Operational Excellence: Developing a thorough understanding of the day-to-day functions of a homebuilder, encompassing critical areas such as:
Project Scheduling: Learning effective timeline management and coordination.
Quality Assurance: Contributing to maintaining David Weekley Homes’ high standards of construction quality.
Site Safety: Understanding and adhering to essential construction safety protocols.
Cost & Material Control: Gaining insights into efficient resource management and budgeting.
David Weekley Homebuilding Philosophy: Learning and contributing to the “David Weekley Way” of building and selling homes, which emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Impact of Customer Service: Understanding the critical role of superior customer service in the homebuilding business and its direct impact on brand reputation and success.

Qualifications:
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who meet the following requirements:
Academic Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in a full-time college program and anticipating graduation in or after December 2026.
Relevant Major: Enrollment in college programs for Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a closely related field, with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in residential construction.
Academic Status: Applicants not currently enrolled in a college or university will not be considered.
Local Residency: Must have reliable housing in the Portland, OR / Vancouver, WA area for the entire duration of the summer internship program. Housing will NOT be provided by David Weekley Homes.
Availability: Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer internship period.

Compensation:
• This is a paid internship offering $20 per hour.
