Position: Sales Development Representative (SDR) Intern

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) Intern program is designed as the first chapter of a rewarding, impactful, and high-potential sales career with Paylocity. As an SDR Intern, you will:

  • Learn about the SDR program, compensation plan, and sales career path opportunities.
  • Work towards a daily call goal and weekly appointment setting goal.
  • Receive 1 on 1 mentorship from a manager and professional development from business partners.
  • Gain real-life sales skills.
  • Spend your time setting appointments, shadowing experienced professionals, learning, and contributing to project work.
  • Participate in team-building activities and community engagement.
  • Gain access to our Sales Executives to help shape your future.

Depending on performance, this internship can also lead to a full-time Sales Development Representative position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple priorities, learn, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be a self-motivated individual eager to learn, ask questions, and collaborate with others to master our Sales program and processes.
  • Contact potential clients to help key decision-makers modernize and improve their workplace through our industry-leading technology.
  • Participate in individual and team competitions to help reach goals.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with a willingness to share your ideas.
  • Be passionate and driven to exceed goals; competitive but also able to work collaboratively on a team.
  • Handle objections and use sales techniques to align our solution to an organization’s needs.
  • Gather key information and maintain our customer relationship management (CRM) database.

Requirements

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a college degree program with anticipated graduation in December of 2026 or Spring of 2027.

Soft Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ambitious, hard-working, and not afraid of healthy competition.
  • Resourceful and able to learn new products and processes quickly.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, yet enjoys being part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • This role can be performed from any office in the US.
  • The pay range for this position is $20.44/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance, in addition to a full range of benefits (details outlined here).
  • Base pay information is based on market location and provided per relevant state and local pay transparency laws.
