Program Overview

Our Internship Program is meticulously designed to provide students with a rich array of experiences within the dynamic landscape industry. This is a full-time, paid position, and we are able to accommodate interns at most branch locations across the country.

What You Will Experience

Interns will gain hands-on exposure to diverse facets of the landscape industry, including:

  • Management: Learning leadership principles and operational oversight.
  • Construction: Understanding landscape installation and project execution.
  • Tree Care: Developing expertise in arboriculture and tree health.
  • Irrigation: Mastering the principles and systems of water management.
  • Fertilization & Pest Control: Gaining knowledge in plant nutrition and integrated pest management.
  • Plant Identification: Enhancing botanical knowledge relevant to landscape design and maintenance.
  • Crew Management: Developing skills in leading and coordinating landscaping teams.

Program Structure & Mentorship

We’ve crafted this program with your growth in mind:

  • Tailored Experience: A rotating schedule and clearly defined learning objectives are established before your start date. This allows the Branch Manager, your Intern Mentor, and you to collaborate on developing a program that aligns best with your interests and the specific needs of the branch.
  • Dedicated Mentor: You will be paired with an Account Manager (Mentor) who will serve as your primary supervisor. Your Mentor will be a constant resource for questions, concerns, and guidance. They will share their management philosophy and actively help you cultivate your own unique management style, providing ongoing feedback throughout the program.

Professional Development Opportunities

Professional development is a cornerstone of our internship:

  • Outside Activities & Networking: We offer various opportunities to enhance your exposure to the broader horticultural environment, facilitating networking with industry professionals.
  • Speaker’s Forum: Participate in a dedicated speaker’s forum covering a range of topics relevant to both the company and your long-term professional growth.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Focus: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a major in:
    • Plant Science
    • Horticultural Sciences
    • Agriculture
    • Landscape Management
    • Urban Forestry
    • Agricultural Mechanization
    • Construction
    • Design or Architecture
    • Business
  • Enthusiasm: A strong interest in learning all aspects of the landscape industry.
  • Attitude: Possess a can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Driving Record: A clean driving record is essential.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills are required.
