About Varia Global (www.varia.global)
We operate three distinct businesses under one roof:
-
The Matchbox (thematchbox.inc) β Growth marketing agency managing millions in ad spend for Fortune 500 and high-growth startups. We run full funnel growth programs, multi-platform campaigns, and marketing operations for companies like Celigo, PeopleFinders, and MontyCloud.
-
The Ad Spend (theadspend.com) β AI-powered advertising intelligence SaaS platform monitoring $175M+ in ad spend across 150+ companies. We provide 24/7 anomaly detection, diagnostic AI, and cross-platform analytics. Currently raising our Series A.
-
Spyll World (spyll.world) β Independent electronic music label with 50+ international releases, 125+ brand partnerships (Formula 1, Givenchy, Logitech), and 200M+ social impressions across global markets.
We’re building the infrastructure to scale three companies simultaneously β and we need someone who thinks in systems, not tasks.
The Role
You’ll architect AI-powered automation systems across our entire ecosystem. This isn’t about connecting two apps β it’s about building intelligent workflows that process thousands of data points, make decisions, and keep operations running seamlessly.
Cross-Company Projects You Might Own:
For The Matchbox (Agency):
- Build AI agents that analyze client meeting transcripts, extract action items, and automatically update project status across Notion, Slack, and HubSpot
- Design systems that intelligently route client communications to the right team members based on content, urgency, and current workload
- Create automated reporting pipelines that synthesize performance data from 10+ platforms into executive-ready insights
For The Ad Spend (SaaS):
- Develop customer onboarding automation that connects ad platforms, validates data pipelines, and provisions accounts without manual intervention
- Build AI-powered customer success workflows that detect usage patterns and trigger proactive outreach
- Design systems that aggregate product feedback from Slack, support tickets, and user interviews into actionable product roadmap insights
For Spyll World (Music Label):
- Architect automated royalty tracking that monitors placements across sync licensing platforms, calculates splits, and prepares artist payouts
- Build content distribution workflows that coordinate releases across 10+ streaming platforms, social channels, and brand partnerships
- Create AI systems that analyze engagement data to optimize release timing and promotional strategies
The Standard:
Everything you build must be maintainable by non-technical operators. That means intuitive interfaces, comprehensive documentation, and resilient error handling.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Capabilities:
- Fluent with APIs, webhooks, and authentication flows
- Experienced with modern automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n)
- Comfortable working with AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
- Can write scripts and integrations when no-code solutions fall short
- Bonus: Notion API, Google Apps Script, database design, web scraping
The Differentiators:
- You’ve built projects that solve real problems (show us your GitHub, portfolio, or side projects)
- You can translate business requirements into technical architecture
- You document systems like you’re handing them off to your replacement
- You understand the “why” before jumping to the “how”
- You’re energized by ambiguous problems with no obvious solution
Ideal Candidates:
- CS/IS/Data Science/Informatics student or recent grad
- Bootcamp graduate with portfolio projects
- Self-taught developer with demonstrated shipping ability
- Anyone who’s built automation systems, bots, or integrations in the wild
What You’ll Gain
Technical Growth:
- Design system architecture for multi-company operations
- Work with production AI APIs and agent frameworks
- Build integrations across modern SaaS stack (Notion, HubSpot, Slack, Google Workspace, Zapier)
- Learn to balance technical sophistication with operational simplicity
Business Exposure:
- See how three different business models operate under one roof
- Work directly with founders on strategic automation initiatives
- Understand how technical systems enable business scaling
- Ship real products used by team members and customers daily
Professional Development:
- Direct mentorship from operators who’ve built and scaled companies
- Portfolio-worthy projects across agency, SaaS, and entertainment verticals
- Experience translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Internship Details
- π° $16/hour
- β° 5-10 hours/week with flexible scheduling
- π 12-week commitment (Feb 17 – May 16, 2026)
- π 100% remote with async-first culture
- π― High-impact work β no coffee runs or busywork
Time Commitment:
This role is designed for students balancing coursework or professionals exploring a transition. We prioritize output over hours logged. If you’re efficient, you might accomplish more in 5 focused hours than others do in 10.
How to Apply
Send the following in a short email to careers@varia.global:
- Resume or LinkedIn β show us your background and tell us why you think you’d be a fit for our ecosystem of companies
- Project narrative β describe something you’ve built or automated. We want to understand:
- What problem did it solve?
- What technologies did you use?
- How did you make it work?
- What would you do differently now?
- Portfolio link β GitHub, personal site, demo video, or anything that shows your work
- Your favorite song from the Spyll catalog.
We evaluate based on what you’ve built, not where you studied.
A well-documented side project is worth more than a perfect GPA (but your GPA helps.)
Application deadline: February 14, 2026
