Your New Role: AustralianSuper 2026 Intern Program

The AustralianSuper 2026 Intern Program offers an exciting opportunity to build a career with a growing global investor. Commencing in June 2026, this 8-week program will immerse you in one of the world’s largest active fund managers, exposing you to a variety of our teams and developing essential investment capabilities and skills.

During the internship, you will:

  • Work directly with and learn from professionals across various investment asset classes, including equities, private markets, fixed income, and asset allocation teams.
  • Engage in real-life investment projects with asset class teams, forming views and presenting findings back to Investment colleagues and leaders.
  • Gain exposure to a range of approaches to investing and obtain first-hand knowledge of the investment business, including both front and middle office functions, as part of our global platform.

Investments interns in New York can expect to work on projects with one or more of the following functions: International & Private Equities, Mid Risk, or ESG & Stewardship.

This role is based at our office in Midtown Manhattan at 1251 Avenue of the Americas, operating on a hybrid work schedule.

Following the successful completion of the Intern Program, we intend to offer Graduate placement opportunities commencing in September 2027 (for the 2027 Graduate Program).

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this program, you should possess:

  • A passion for investing and understanding how Investments contribute to our Member-focused purpose.
  • A creative problem solver who is intellectually curious.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A solutions-focused mindset that aligns with the Fund’s ‘member-first’ philosophy.

  • Academic Requirements: Be in your final or penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
  • Availability: Be able to join the Intern Program for 8 weeks from June 2026 to August 2026.
  • Future Commitment: Be able to commence full-time employment commencing September 2027 (for the 2027 Graduate Program).
  • Work Authorization: Must have unrestricted authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.

Who You Are (Degree Disciplines, Desirable Skills & Experience)

We are looking for individuals with a strong foundation and a proactive attitude:

  • Degree Disciplines (examples): Economics, Finance/Investment, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, Accounting & Finance (or related).
  • Desirable Experience: Research projects, finance or society leadership, part-time work, volunteering, team sports; familiarity with Excel and an interest in markets.
  • Desirable Skills: Effective communication, analytical problem-solving, stakeholder management, teamwork, resilience/adaptability.

Pay Transparency Notice

The salary for this position is $85,000 annually or $47 per hour pro rata (based on full-time hours, located in New York City). The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
