We are seeking motivated and ambitious college students to join our Summer 2026 Internship Program at our Corporate Headquarters in Glens Falls, New York. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop your skills, and explore career opportunities in banking and financial services.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

About the Program

Our 12-week, full-time, paid internship program offers comprehensive exposure to key areas of our business. Interns will engage in:

The program runs from May 18, 2026, to August 7, 2026, with a commitment of 40 hours per week.

Credit Intern Summary

The Credit Internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in understanding risk and the credit lifecycle, particularly within the commercial loan portfolio management process. This role is integral to credit analysis, coordinating with internal and external parties, and ensuring all necessary steps are completed to provide a positive commercial customer experience.

Essential Job Functions

As a Credit Intern, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Perform portfolio management activities including reporting requirements and covenant testing.
  • Coordinate with relationship managers in collection of financial statements and maintenance of records.
  • Review assigned accounts to ensure risk rating accuracy.
  • Identify product solutions and recommendations to enhance account relationships.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings to understand planning and decision-making processes, gain insights into team dynamics, and exposure to various functions and organizational processes.
  • Attend a continuing education event, branch visit, and participate in a community service opportunity to promote corporate social responsibility.
  • Attend weekly meetings to collaborate with interns from other departments within the company to share knowledge, build power skills, and share experiences in the program.
  • Participate in a presentation at the conclusion of the program, showcasing your learning and contributions to the Executive Leadership team.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking college students who are eager to learn and take initiative in a professional setting. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to effectively learn and utilize department specific systems and software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and consistently meet established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, sound judgment, and ability to make quality decisions within defined authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently, clearly, professionally, and confidentially with internal partners, management, and other stakeholders.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to repetitively use a telephone, computer mouse, and keyboard for extended durations.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment.
