The Internship Program Overview

  • Marsh McLennan Agency is seeking an intellectual and motivated Risk Management student to participate in our 2026 Summer Internship Program.
  • Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player and possess a desire to seek a future career within risk management.
  • As a Risk Management intern, you will spend time directly with teams, gaining exposure through various functional departments to learn about: client service, risk management, operations, sales, business analytics, and more.
  • Interns will work on a variety of projects aimed at offering hands-on experience to develop solutions for real-world business problems.

Location & Logistics

  • This position requires you to work in-person Monday through Friday at one of our office locations.
  • Preferably in: Yakima or Butte.
  • Relocation expenses are NOT offered.

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities & Benefits)

  • Project Partnership: Partner with teams on creative and diverse projects to further develop and fulfill MMA’s brand.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally to support the overall mission and vision of your assigned MMA department.
  • Meaningful Support: Provide meaningful and specific support to directors, sales executives, and client relations staff to enhance new business and retention opportunities.
  • Active Team Role: Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and grow your network by working closely with your manager, mentor, and other interns.
  • Learning Opportunities: Participate in several national and regional classes designed to introduce you to our industry and organization, setting you up for success as an emerging professional.

  • Paid Internship: All work is compensated.
  • Operational Excellence: Follow organization policies and procedures, sales and service standards, and established workflows. Ensure quality control through proper file documentation and maintenance.

Compensation

  • This is a paid internship. The salary range for this position is $35,300 – $59,300/year.

Application Requirements

  • Academic Performance: Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of application and start date (all academic grades considered).
  • Educational Pursuit: Pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety / Risk Management / Insurance / Industrial Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Preferred Certification: Preferably possess an OSHA 30-hour training.
  • Relevant Skills:
    • Capable of identifying potential regulatory exposures.
    • Understanding of Workers Compensation Insurance.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must have legal work authorization in the U.S.
