About the Job: IT Intern (6-Month Internship)
Are you passionate about technology and eager to kickstart your career in a dynamic IT environment? Porsche is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our team for a 6-month period. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, collaborate with various IT teams, and provide essential first-level technical support within a prestigious organization.
Position Objective:
The IT Intern will play a crucial role across the PCNA IT Teams, contributing to the coordination of support activities and serving as a vital first-level technical support resource. This position is designed for an individual who possesses a fundamental understanding of general IT support tasks and is keen to gain experience with currently used PCNA IT systems and protocols, supporting a diverse user base.
Primary Responsibilities:
- First-Level Technical Support: Provide initial troubleshooting and resolution for a wide array of technical problems encountered by end-users.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively work and communicate across multiple IT Support Groups to ensure seamless problem resolution and project execution.
- System Deployment & Imaging: Actively assist in the development and deployment of standardized computer images for both laptop and desktop systems, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Hardware & Software Management: Support the comprehensive set-up, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of end-user hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops, peripherals) and software applications.
- Mobile Device Support: Provide assistance and support for Apple iOS wireless users, troubleshooting connectivity and application issues.
- Configuration & Installation: As assigned, meticulously configure, test, and install various files, applications, and printers to meet user and system requirements.
- Incident Management: Accurately record, track, resolve, or escalate incoming support requests using various ticket tracking tools, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Audio/Visual Support: Collaborate with the Audio/Visual provider to support video conferencing systems and troubleshoot conference room equipment, ensuring smooth meeting operations.
- IT Asset Tracking: Maintain accurate records of various IT assets (software and hardware) using designated tracking systems, contributing to efficient inventory management.
- Equipment Logistics: Responsibly transport, pack, and unpack IT-related equipment for installation, relocation, or shipment, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Customer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction through technical expertise, accuracy, and timeliness in all support and delivery activities.
- Security Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to established Security policies regarding systems access and data protection.
- User Account Management: Perform essential user account maintenance, including unlocking accounts and resetting user passwords securely.
- Information Safeguarding: Actively ensure the proper retention of electronic documents and business confidential information, demonstrating a clear understanding of the need to safeguard competitive information in both electronic and non-electronic formats.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma combined with an Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Industry-relevant training or technical courses are strongly desired and will be a significant advantage.
Skills:
- Operating Systems & Software: Foundational support knowledge of Windows 10, Apple iOS, MS Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, and Active Directory profile administration.
- Networking & Imaging: Familiarity with SCCM, Wireless Technology, Remote field connectivity, and hard disk imaging processes.
- Problem-Solving Acumen: Demonstrated ability to solve advanced technical problems and troubleshoot complex issues systematically.
- Organizational Skills: Strong multi-tasking abilities with the capacity to efficiently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Focus: A high degree of professionalism and a strong drive for delivering quality customer service.
- Technological Enthusiasm: A genuine passion for technology coupled with flexibility, a desire to learn, and the ability to explore new fields of technical knowledge when required.
This is a 6-month internship, offering an immersive experience within the Porsche IT landscape.
