About The Role

As a Robotics Innovation Intern, you will become an integral part of Westinghouse’s dynamic Robotics & Sensors Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with advanced robotics and contribute to real-world applications within the nuclear energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

As a Robotics Innovation Intern, your contributions will be critical in advancing our robotics capabilities. You will gain hands-on experience and work closely with experienced engineers within the Robotics & Sensors team on a variety of tasks, including:

  • Advanced Simulation Exploration: Delve into and explore state-of-the-art digital tools, specifically high-resolution, physics-based robotics simulations. These simulations are designed to accurately model complex interactions of robotic systems, providing valuable insights for design and development.
  • Robotics System Development Support: Actively support the design and prototyping phases of innovative robotics systems, contributing to their conceptualization and physical realization.
  • Software Stack Development: Assist in the development of sophisticated software stacks crucial for implementing advanced functionalities such as robot automation, autonomy, and sensor adaptive control.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a team of expert engineers, learning from their experience and contributing your unique skills to projects.

Qualifications

We are seeking motivated and talented individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Pursuit: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Robotics Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Mechanical Engineering
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Academic Progress: Must have completed your Sophomore year of college by the start of the internship.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience and fluency in programming languages, specifically Python and C++.

Compensation

Westinghouse is committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The estimated hourly rate for this position ranges from $22.69 to $27.50 per hour. The final rate will be dependent upon the candidate’s specific experience, qualifications, and skills.
