Overview
Brightstar is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter interested in pursuing a career in Product Management or Product Engineering to join its Product Management team as a part-time intern. This internship is slated to begin in early June through August 2026, with the strong possibility of extending into the following fall/spring semesters on a part-time basis.
This position will specifically support the Lottery Product Management team responsible for the vision, strategy, and roadmap of Brightstar’s Data and Insights products. The intern will gain hands-on experience by training with team members to develop a deep understanding of the lottery industry, product management processes, tools, and best practices. Key learning objectives include uncovering customer needs, translating these needs into critical product requirements, and identifying/developing viable solutions. Interns will even have the opportunity to build products for Brightstar’s internal use.
About The Team
This role will report directly to the Senior Product Manager of the Data and Insights group. The intern will have significant exposure to multiple business partners, including engineering, marketing, sales, and more. This is an excellent opportunity to receive mentorship and foster relationships with various members of the Product Management team, encompassing diverse experience levels and areas of expertise.

Responsibilities (Principal Activities and Responsibilities):
• Work collaboratively with Product Owners, assisting with tasks related to migration projects. This may include:
• Requirements Gathering: Collecting and documenting product needs.
• Gap Analysis: Identifying discrepancies between current and desired states.
• Customer Review Sessions: Participating in meetings to gather feedback.
• Producing Project Artifacts: Creating documentation such as Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) and Product Descriptions.
• Help organize and gather requirements for upcoming product releases.
• Assist with continuous process improvement initiatives and complete other ad-hoc analysis as needed.
• Actively participate in weekly product management and engineering meetings.
• Support backlog setup, including the creation of Jira items based on existing FRDs.
• Contribute to capability mapping efforts.

Qualifications:
• A strong desire to pursue a career in Product Management, Product Marketing, or Engineering.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is a significant plus.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail and comfort working with large volumes of data.
• Availability: Must be able to work 37.5 hours/week during the summer (early June through August 2026), with the possibility of extension into the fall/spring semester at a minimum of 10 hours/week.
• Currently enrolled in a degree program with relevant courses in computer languages (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits:
• Estimated Starting Compensation: $24.00 per hour.
• *Note: Actual pay offered may be higher or lower, depending on factors such as background, skills, experience, and work location.
