POSITION SUMMARY: CTAG Solid Dose Summer Intern

As a CTAG (Central Technical Application Group) Solid Dose Summer Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the evaluation of VMHS (Vitamin, Mineral, and Herbal Supplement) formulations. Your primary objective will be to identify opportunities for creating efficient vitamin pre-mix formulations that can be utilized across multiple bulk products, thereby improving manufacturing efficiencies at all VMHS sites. This internship demands strong self-management capabilities, excellent collaboration with various functional areas, and the ability to effectively escalate issues when necessary. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience within the dynamic supplement industry, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real-world product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulation Support: Under direct supervision, you will actively assist the CTAG team in the formulation of nutritional supplement products in various solid dose forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, powders) to support manufacturing processes.
  • Data Management & Analysis: You will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and summarizing experimental data, utilizing a variety of software tools and programs for efficient data input and retrieval.
  • Record Keeping: Meticulously maintain detailed records of all laboratory work, observations, and experimental results, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
  • Laboratory Maintenance: Ensure a safe and organized work environment by regularly cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment and the lab space after use.
  • Project Execution: Successfully complete special projects on time, as assigned by your supervisor or mentor, demonstrating initiative and commitment.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure all internal and external work activities adhere to appropriate standards, in full compliance with Company policies, applicable laws, quality standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Experience & Qualifications

  • Technical Experience: Prior laboratory or pilot plant experience is preferred. Knowledge of food chemistry and formulation methods is a significant advantage.
  • Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective teamwork and reporting.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively in a team-oriented environment.

Areas of Study/Majors

We are seeking candidates who are currently pursuing a degree in:

  • Food Science
  • Chemistry
  • Biochemistry
  • Biological Sciences
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Or a closely related scientific or engineering field.

Additional Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates who have practical experience in a pilot plant environment or possess prior experience in food formulation and laboratory settings.
