About the Internship:
Embark on a dynamic Information Technology Internship at AE2S, where you will gain invaluable real-world experience collaborating closely with seasoned IT professionals. This role is designed to bridge your academic knowledge with practical application, focusing on critical technology support and information security functions. As an IT Intern, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive technology support to AE2S staff and clients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Efficiently prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user requests channeled through the IT Ticketing System.
• Strategically escalating complex incidents when required to senior IT staff.
• Employing various diagnostic and help request tracking tools to ensure effective problem resolution.
• Delivering in-person, hands-on assistance directly at the desktop level for immediate support.

Beyond core IT support, you will also contribute significantly to information security initiatives, encompassing:

• Assisting in the deployment and continuous monitoring of diverse security controls.
• Engaging in SOC (Security Operations Center) monitoring to identify and address threats.
Reviewing and escalating security-related tickets for prompt action.
• Actively participating in phishing monitoring and remediation efforts to enhance organizational security.

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support & Troubleshooting: Deliver timely and courteous support by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, performing desktop-level fixes, managing system installations and upgrades, and ensuring thorough resolution via documented processes.
IT Alert & Incident Management: Proactively monitor and manage IT alerts and incidents, identifying emerging trends, reviewing help desk tickets, and collaborating with security teams to detect, document, and escalate potential security concerns.
System Deployments & Changes: Aid in the execution of software releases, system rollouts, data backups, and configuration adjustments, ensuring clear communication of updates and their potential impact to end-users.
Documentation & Knowledge Management: Maintain precise documentation by recording end-user information, tracking incidents from inception to resolution, updating knowledge bases, and developing helpful resources such as help sheets, FAQs, and essential security documentation (e.g., policies, incident response procedures).
Security Initiative Support: Contribute to robust security initiatives through monitoring network traffic and system logs, assisting in the creation of security awareness programs and training materials, researching emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and evaluating their potential impact on the organization.

Ideal Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess the following:

Educational Background: Actively pursuing a degree or relevant certifications in Information Technology.
Technical Support Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing technical support for a range of desktop, network, and software technologies.
Essential Skills: Possess strong communication and time management abilities.
Hardware Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of basic computer hardware, including laptops, desktops, and printers.
Operating Systems Proficiency: Experience with various desktop and server operating systems, such as Mac, PC, and Linux.
Application Support: Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office application support.
Pre-Employment Requirements: All selected applicants must successfully complete pre-employment onboarding, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Physical Qualifications:
The role may require the following physical capabilities:

• Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.
• Capability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, with rare instances of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Capacity to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors or defects.
• May require wearing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to flame-resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
• Potential for occasional evenings and weekends, with overtime expectations varying based on workload.
