About the Role:

We are actively seeking an intern to join our cutting-edge Battery Algorithms team. This critical position is designed for an individual possessing a robust foundation in battery control, algorithms, modeling, and diverse battery chemistries. Your Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within a dynamic, cross-functional team to advance our cutting-edge battery management features.
  • Contribute significantly to our world-acclaimed battery product, designed for mass-market passenger vehicles and energy storage solutions.
  • Collect and thoroughly review laboratory and fleet data to support the development and quality assessment of high-quality battery controls and algorithms. This is crucial for ensuring the real-time safety and optimal performance of vehicle battery packs.
  • Develop and/or improve advanced battery controls and algorithms aimed at enhancing overall vehicle performance and enriching the customer experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with various cross-functional teams, including controls, battery cells, embedded software, system engineering, and vehicle integration teams, to define requirements and execute comprehensive integration testing.
  • Provide additional support to the Battery Software department with duties and tasks as needed.

The Essentials – You Will Have:

  • In-depth knowledge of battery chemistries, such as LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) and NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt).
  • Strong understanding of general battery controls and algorithms design principles.
  • Proven experience with battery management systems (BMS) and EV powertrain components.
  • Proficiency in programming and simulation tools, specifically MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
  • Solid knowledge of electrochemistry and battery modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with vehicle controls, including motor, onboard charger, and thermal management systems.

Education & Enrollment Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program at an accredited university.
  • Ability to provide proof of enrollment in your current or upcoming program (MS, PhD).
