About the Design Team

Are you passionate about experimenting with design best practices in the evolving world of generative AI? Do you thrive on collaboration within fast-paced product development and leverage user research and analytical insights to craft thoughtful products? If so, Kensho invites you to join our close-knit design team. We work hand-in-hand with engineers and product managers to create outstanding financial products, seeking a designer who is both collaborative and eager to learn.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, conduct, and integrate user research findings into the products you design.
  • Iterate on and validate concepts using a diverse toolkit: sketches, interaction diagrams, wireframes, UI designs, and interactive prototypes.
  • Design complex interactions and ensure the successful shipment of high-quality generative AI products.
  • Collaborate with fellow designers to continuously enhance and elevate Kensho’s product design standards.
  • Partner closely with product managers, software engineers, and machine-learning engineers across every stage of the design process, from initial user and market research through to final implementation.

What We Look For

  • A compelling portfolio of design work showcasing thoughtful UX and UI design, from initial sketches to polished interfaces.
  • The ability to clearly articulate your design process and rationale.
  • Proven skill in thinking about scale: how data, content, and layouts adapt from wide desktops down to mobile formats.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in articulating user flows and defining application architecture.
  • A deep understanding of UI paradigms and the ability to apply or adapt the most appropriate one to each design problem.
  • Expertise in the effective use of typography and information hierarchy, particularly within data-dense interfaces or graphics.

What Really Gets Our Attention (Applicants need not meet all of these!)

  • Experience designing for data-dense and/or AI-driven products.
  • Relevant experience or a background in finance.

Technologies We Like

  • Figma
  • User research platforms such as UserInterviews, UserTesting.com, etc.
