Coastal Conservation Research Program (CCRP) Summer Internship – Southern New Jersey

Join us for an immersive 10-week research internship program in Southern New Jersey, exploring coastal salt marshes, barrier islands, and Delaware Bay beaches. This program offers unparalleled hands-on experience in vital conservation efforts.

Program Overview:

  • Focus Areas: Coastal salt marshes, barrier islands, and Delaware Bay beaches.
  • Research Subjects: Diamondback terrapins, coastal birds, horseshoe crabs, wetland and coastal ecosystem dynamics, and more.
  • Activities: Participate in diverse field studies, engage with local community members, and contribute to long-term conservation projects.
  • Professional Development: Conduct independent research projects and present your findings at our annual Intern Symposium.

Who Should Apply:

Undergraduate students pursuing careers in conservation biology, wildlife biology, ecology, and coastal ecosystem sciences.

Internship Period (2026):

  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Expected Start Date: No earlier than May 25, 2026
  • Expected End Date: No later than August 4, 2026
  • Note: Applicants must be available for the full duration of the program.

Responsibilities & Schedule:

  • Work Schedule: 40 hours/week.
  • Activities: Outdoor fieldwork, hands-on experience working with wildlife, experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Flexibility: Schedules may include weekends and holidays, early mornings, and evening hours.

Compensation:

Interns are compensated at NJ Minimum Wage.

Requirements:

  • Education: Two years of college completed.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation is required.
  • Housing: Housing is not provided; applicants must live or be able to commute locally.
