General Responsibilities

This position is integral to Terracon’s operations, focusing on critical quality assurance through field and laboratory testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various tests on construction materials, specifically concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs meticulous sampling and testing procedures as directed by senior staff or project requirements.
  • Provides valuable assistance and support to other field and/or laboratory personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Efficiently transports essential equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, the laboratory, clients, or other Terracon offices. This role also involves providing physical assistance in the accurate set-up of testing equipment.
  • Maintains a high standard of cleanliness by diligently cleaning equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Supports other technicians or professional staff by assisting with routine tasks and contributing to overall project success.
  • Will embark on a structured path of professional development, progressively undertaking increased training and responsibility in assigned work duties, preparing for advanced roles within the firm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program in a science or a related technical field, such as environmental science, safety, engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Materials), chemistry, biology, or geology.
  • The ideal candidate will have less than one year remaining to complete their BS degree, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic achievement and a readiness to transition into a professional career.
