The Opportunity

Grand Event Services is seeking a motivated Supply Chain & Food Operations Intern to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role offers hands-on experience in managing critical supply chain functions and supporting large-scale food operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of products, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to the overall success of our guest experiences. This internship is designed for individuals eager to lead, motivate, and make a tangible impact in a thriving hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive Guest & Team Engagement: Cultivate a vibrant atmosphere through positive interactions with guests and team members, proactively addressing needs and fostering a friendly environment that embodies our mantra.
- Strategic Inventory Management: Meticulously maintain optimal inventory levels across all products daily, leveraging PAR ordering guides, executing precise inventory transfers, and conducting thorough delivery inspections to uphold quality and efficiency.
- Vendor Relationship & Procurement Excellence: Precisely enter vendor bid and pricing information, communicate effectively with our valued vendors to confirm orders, and ensure all placements are accurate and timely via phone and internet.
- Operational Communication & Quality Assurance: Maintain seamless communication channels between your department, vendors, warehouse staff, and unit management. Promptly address any products not meeting our stringent quality standards and report any food spoilage or damage to the appropriate management.
- Data-Driven Operations & Reporting: Regularly update our comprehensive databases with daily, weekly, and monthly price changes, demonstrate keen foresight in anticipating weekly usage fluctuations, and meticulously process and file purchase orders. You will also be instrumental in creating and maintaining a weekly product usage report/database.
- Team Development & Cost Management: Empower unit management by providing comprehensive training and constructive feedback on completing waste logs, transfer forms, and weekly inventory processes, directly contributing to effective cost of sales management.
- Seasonal Staffing & Event Support: Contribute to the success of our Food and Beverage Operations department by assisting with the hiring of seasonal staff and supporting department-wide events, ensuring smooth execution.
Qualifications
- Academic Foundation: Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Dynamic Interpersonal Skills: Possess an inherently outgoing, professional, and genuinely friendly demeanor, coupled with strong communication and astute decision-making abilities.
- Operational Acumen: A proven ability to train, adeptly multi-task, collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and meticulously follow directions in a fast-paced setting.
- Physical Agility & Adaptability: Capable of working, standing, and walking for extended periods (up to 6 hours at a time) in various weather conditions.
- Flexible Availability: Willingness to commit to a minimum of two Sunday evenings per month for critical Inventory Audits, along with flexible hours encompassing nights, weekends, and holidays to support our dynamic operational needs.
- Commitment Period: Availability to complete the full employment term between late April 2026 and August 2026, embracing this intensive and rewarding seasonal opportunity.
