The Role: Mechanical Engineering Intern
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at CADABRA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and validation of our AI-powered CAD automation solutions. You’ll work at the intersection of mechanical design, software, and artificial intelligence, helping to translate complex engineering processes into intelligent automation features. Responsibilities
- Support the design, modeling, and validation of mechanical assemblies and components for CADABRA workflows and demos.
- Assist in creating parametric, modular, and reusable CAD models that are ideal for automation.
- Work closely with our AI and software teams to translate engineering processes and design intent into automation features.
- Test CADABRA outputs for accuracy, manufacturability, and usability, providing critical feedback for improvement.
- Document workflows, models, and best practices to ensure clear communication and knowledge transfer.
- Learn rapidly in a dynamic startup environment, contributing innovative ideas and solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Strong interest in design automation, AI, and modern engineering tools.
- Curious, motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies and concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to FEA (Finite Element Analysis), DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly), or various manufacturing methods.
- Familiarity with CAD macros, scripting (e.g., Python), or other automation techniques.
- Experience with student projects, robotics teams, or design competitions that involve complex mechanical systems.
- A genuine passion for AI, innovative design tools, and improving the engineer’s creative experience.
