This job posting is for a Student – Internship opportunity within Systems/Information Technology at Cummins Inc. The role category is On-site with Flexibility, and no relocation package is offered. The internship is designed for students pursuing various IT-related degrees and offers exposure to multiple analyst and developer roles.
Roles Offered:
• Business Analyst: Partners with business functions to define, analyze, document, and communicate objectives, business requirements, and priorities for information systems and solutions. Works with experts on solution design, implementation, support, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems.
• Applications Analyst: Provides comprehensive application functionality, configuration, and support expertise for software solutions. Collaborates with business analysts, architects, technical experts, and software vendors on solution requirements, design, configuration, gap resolution, implementation, support, maintenance, and enhancement.
• Technical Analyst: Offers application or infrastructure technical expertise, analysis, and specifications for IT systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements and IT architecture policies. Translates requirements into technical specifications, designs solutions, coordinates construction, installation, configuration, and testing, and troubleshoots technical issues.
• Quality Assurance Analyst: Develops functional and technical test methodologies, plans, scenarios, and cases for applications and systems at various development and implementation stages. Coordinates and executes testing to ensure quality solutions and efficient performance, reports results, and tracks issue resolution.
• Security Analyst: Defines information security policies and procedures. Ensures the protection of information and data on computer systems and secures networks against unauthorized access. Investigates potential security breaches and recommends corrective actions. Promotes IT security awareness.
• Developer: Responsible for developing software programs according to technical specifications, adhering to programming standards and procedures. Performs testing, executes program modifications, and responds to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding.
• Project Coordinator: Applies developing business process and project management skills within a specialty area. Manages small portions of well-defined projects and provides administrative and logistical support for project teams and managers.

Qualifications (Monthly Salary Range by Degree Level for 2026):
• Bachelor’s: $4,000 – $4,900
• Master’s: $6,000
• PhD: $7,000
The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Internship Program Criteria:
• Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college/University.
• Minimum 2.5 or above GPA preferred.
• Must be able to complete a minimum of 10-weeks and up to a maximum of 12-weeks commitment.
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.
• Willingness to learn from others on the job.
• Must be currently residing within the continental U.S.
Compensation And Benefits:
The compensation includes a base salary rate. Additional benefits vary between locations and may include options such as a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
