About the Company

The Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) is responsible for the investment of funds and the administration of pension and health insurance benefits. They serve nearly 444,000 state and local government employees, state police officers, and non-teaching staff from local school boards and regional universities. KPPA employs a diverse range of professionals in areas such as administrative support, investment management, benefits counseling, accounting, payroll functions, legal services, and information technology.

Job Description

This internship is part of the Team Kentucky Internship Program, which aims to provide talented college students with meaningful public service experience, professional development, and networking opportunities. It is a prestigious and competitive program that involves an online application and interview process.

As an intern with the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority, you will be working alongside a project manager. Your primary responsibilities will involve supporting the development, organization, research, and delivery of technical training materials and programs. This includes assisting with the design, development, and revision of various materials (e.g., slide decks, quick reference guides). You will also help create training documentation and multimedia content, such as diagrams, screen captures, or videos, for training purposes.

Key Program Requirements:
• Attend TKIP Orientation
• Attend at least 1 Professional Development Day
• Attend at least 1 Agency Tour
• Complete 300 working hours throughout the program
• Submit a final project
• Attend TKIP Reception

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, M365, and SharePoint.
• Great research and presentation skills.
• Experience with video recording software is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:
Education/Experience: None specified as a general requirement for the job classification.
Special Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age by May 15, 2026 (for eligibility to apply) and at the time of employment.
• Must be enrolled at an accredited Kentucky post-secondary school or other educational institution approved by the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet, or be a graduating high school senior currently enrolled in college courses.
• Must be in good standing with the school with at least a 2.5 grade point average at hire.
• Applicants must upload their unofficial transcript when applying and furnish proof of enrollment to the Personnel Cabinet.
• Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment.
