Job Description: Sales Summer Internship

Program Overview:
This is a 13-week summer internship program, running from May to August. It offers interns hands-on experience across several key departments, including:
Design
Production
Customer Service
Sales

The program is designed to help interns build foundational sales knowledge. A significant component of the internship includes a corporate office visit in Lake Forest, IL, where interns will:
• Engage with the marketing department.
• Meet with PCA leadership.
• Network with other summer interns.

Upon successful completion of the program, interns may be considered for a full-time position to begin after graduation, joining PCA’s GIFT Program (rotational sales development program).

Principle Accountabilities (Responsibilities) Include:
• Being paired with a mentor who will guide their development throughout the summer.
• Working on special projects assigned to assist various business functions (Design, Customer Service, Production, and Sales).
• Developing an understanding of PCA’s business, industry, and sales process.
• Building core sales skills such as communication, presentation, time management, problem-solving, and networking.
• Conducting competitor and key account research.
• Assisting with customer communication, which includes handling inquiries, managing new items, following up on leads, and resolving complaints.
• Building a prospect list and participating in customer visits alongside experienced Sales Representatives.
• Presenting a final project to the management team and fellow interns.

Educational Requirements:
• Must be a currently enrolled student majoring in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
• Must have completed their freshman year.
• A minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0 is required.
• Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis.

Abilities/Skills:
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be comfortable engaging with mentors, team members, and customers.
• Candidate must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects or customer inquiries simultaneously.
• Must be able to travel.
