Compensation: Fixed rate of $22.56 per hour.

Overview & Key Responsibilities:

This role is designed to support the Government Affairs Department by assisting in various functions related to public policy and industry impact. The successful candidate will help promote and monitor policies relevant to Delta and the aviation industry.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Assistance in Preparations: Assisting in the preparation of presentations and reports for the department.
Department Function Support: Participating in the planning and execution of various departmental functions and activities.
Policy Promotion & Monitoring: Supporting the Government Affairs team in promoting and monitoring public policy that affects Delta and the broader aviation industry.
Research & Analysis: Performing extensive research and in-depth analysis, with a specific focus on transportation policy.
Data Management: Compiling and reporting on data based on the scope and requirements of assigned projects.
Quality & Efficiency: Ensuring that all assignments are completed in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner, adhering to company standards and procedures.
Safety Adherence: Practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:

Academic Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a college and/or university.
On-site Work: Ability to work on-site in the Washington, D.C. office for the entire duration of the internship.
Availability: Must be available to work on a full-time basis for the Spring 2026 semester.
Course Load Restriction: Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) while working as a Co-op/Intern; this may potentially delay graduation by 1-2 semesters.
Organizational Skills: Must be very organized.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and legibly with all levels of personnel.
Data Handling: Demonstrates ability with information gathering and data collection.
Innovation: Strong innovation and creativity skills.
Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Data Privacy: Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
Adaptability: Must be adaptable and able to function effectively in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities.
Professionalism: Candidate must convey a professional image to all levels of employees.
