About the Company

The New York Red Bulls (RBNY) are a professional soccer team and one of 30 teams competing in Major League Soccer (MLS). They hold the distinction of being one of the ten charter clubs of the MLS, having participated in the league since its inception in 1996. The team plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (SIS), located in Harrison, New Jersey. The Red Bulls are a successful club, having won the MLS Supporters’ Shield three times. They are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull, from which the team derives its name. Beyond the professional team, the New York Red Bulls are also recognized for offering one of the nation’s premier youth soccer development programs, which includes local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey, Regional Development Schools, and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

About the Job: Equipment Department Internship

This position is an unpaid, for-credit internship, requiring proof of eligibility for college credit.

Purpose of the Internship:
The primary purpose of this internship is to provide an immersive learning experience in the behind-the-scenes operations of a professional sports team, specifically within the Equipment department. Interns will gain insight into the critical role the equipment team plays in the daily functions of the organization, particularly concerning team training and match preparations. A unique aspect of this role is the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in logistics management, as the team prepares for a significant move to a new, state-of-the-art training facility in anticipation of the 2026 season.

Key Areas of Experience and Learning:
• Working closely within the Equipment department.
• Understanding the daily operational demands related to team training.
• Assisting with preparations required for professional soccer matches.
• Participating in logistics management for a major team relocation initiative.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:
• Currently working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Must be eligible to receive college credit for this internship (proof required).
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A strong passion or eagerness to work in the Sports industry.
• Possession of strong organizational skills.
• A keen attention to detail.
• Comfort and proficiency with various technology, including Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality within a team environment.
• A personable and enthusiastic attitude, eager to participate actively in a team setting.

Work Schedule:
Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the assigned hours for this internship may vary to accommodate the team’s needs, and will include nights and weekends.
