Job Description: Planter Engineering & Field Intern

This role is for a Planter Engineering & Field Intern within the Global Planter Design and Validation team, which collaborates closely with the Field Agronomy team.

Job Purpose:
The Global Planter Design and Validation team is responsible for the design, testing, and validation of planter systems. Their crucial role involves ensuring that these systems meet stringent agronomic and performance standards in real-world conditions. By bridging both engineering and agronomy functions, the team drives innovation, ensuring that CNH planters deliver reliable, accurate, and efficient results in the field.

Intern Role Overview:
As a Planter Engineering & Field Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by contributing to various aspects of planter development. This includes participation in planter design improvements, validation testing, and essential agronomic fieldwork. A significant part of the role involves research plot data collection and analysis, with the objective of connecting engineering design decisions directly to agronomic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities as an intern may encompass:
• Providing support for planter design projects, including both current product enhancements and new product development initiatives.
• Assisting with validation fieldwork to ensure that products consistently meet specified performance and reliability standards.
• Collaborating with the field agronomy team on agronomic testing and data collection throughout the entire growing season.
• Collecting, organizing, and analyzing research plot data to thoroughly evaluate planter functionality and crop outcomes.
• Contributing to the comprehensive functionality and performance evaluation of various planter subsystems and features.
• Assisting engineers and agronomists in troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for improving planter design and validation processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates for this internship must be pursuing (at minimum) a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following majors or a closely related field:
• Agricultural Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
