Detailed Job Description: Internship (Silicon Hardware Engineering)
This internship at Intel offers a journey of growth and transformation, inviting students to contribute to the creation of advanced computing infrastructure by transforming raw materials into silicon. Interns will play a role in designing, building, and testing the core technology behind Intel’s powerful processors and platforms.
The internship provides an opportunity to contribute to diverse areas within Silicon Hardware Engineering, including but not limited to:

• TFM (Test Floor Management or similar design/test flow management)

Skills and Qualifications:
This is an entry-level internship position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate or be developing skills in the following areas:
• Debugging
• Hardware Architecture
• Data Analysis
• Physical and Low Power Design
• Power and Performance Analysis and Optimization
• Programming/Scripting Languages (C/C++, Python, Perl, Tcl)
• Systems Architecture
• Hardware Design Knowledge (RTL, Verilog, VLSI)

• Hardware Validation and Debug
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Must be currently enrolled in or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field.
• Experience: 3+ months of educational or industry experience. This experience can be gained through a combination of prior education, current school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Preferred Qualification:
• A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Internship Details:
• Type: Student / Intern
• Start Dates: The application is for internships starting in Spring 2026 and Summer 2026, with consideration also given to candidates interested in year-long internship or co-op opportunities. Candidates must be available to start work during these timeframes.
Location & Work Model:
• Primary Location: US, Oregon, Hillsboro
• Additional Locations: US, Arizona, Phoenix; US, California, Folsom; US, California, Santa Clara; US, Texas, Austin.
• Work Model: This role will require an on-site presence.
• Relocation: Eligibility for relocation benefits depends on factors such as current location and specific job role.
• Colorado: This position is not available in the state of Colorado.
Immigration Sponsorship:
• This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. Intel typically sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions with a shortage of US workers, which are usually STEM contributing roles requiring a Master’s or PhD degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of post-degree related job experience. This specific internship, being a Bachelor’s degree level position with less than three years of experience, does not qualify for Intel sponsorship.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Annual Salary Range: $40,000.00 – $108,000.00. The salary range is dependent on factors such as location and experience.
