The intern will collaborate with both Neighborhoods and other City Departments.

Job Description

This is an Intern-level position for Neighborhoods under the Resident Services umbrella. The intern will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of projects, events, and programs for the City of Hamilton and its 17STRONG initiative. The role requires collaboration with Neighborhoods and other City Departments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Actively participate in activities within the City’s 17 neighborhoods, including cleanups, programs, projects, or events.
• Provide support to the needs of the 17STRONG committees.
• Develop content for various platforms, including the 17STRONG Facebook page, event flyers, and documentation for microgrant projects occurring during the internship.
• Perform tasks specifically designed to provide hands-on exposure to the chosen work field.
• Respond to telephone inquiries and provide information as needed.
• Handle routine clerical functions for the work unit.
• Gather, compile, or display information.
• Undertake research or information-gathering tasks.
• Assist a supervisor on a variety of more advanced tasks.
• (If applicable to a technical field) May be assigned responsibility for multiple steps within a specific project.
• Perform diverse clerical tasks and/or data entry.

Work Schedule:
• The position requires a flexible work schedule, which will include evening and weekend 17STRONG events.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license (this will be verified for finalists).
