Job Description (Detailed)

Role Overview: TikTok Engineering Test Team
The TikTok Engineering Test team is dedicated to testing and delivering innovative and high-quality core product features for the TikTok application. Their primary goal is to facilitate the successful release of TikTok features and enhancements from development to production through effective testing, ensuring continuous quality at speed. The team consists of Software Engineers in Test, comprising a mix of experienced and mid-level engineers, all of whom are self-starters driving large-scale initiatives both within their team and with peer organizations.

Internship Program Details (Summer 2026)
TikTok offers internships to provide students with industry exposure and hands-on experience, helping them develop fundamental skills and explore potential career paths. The program aims to turn ambitions into reality by providing infinite opportunities. Interns will utilize their knowledge in real-world scenarios, laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. The internship runs for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.

Application Process:
• Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions globally across TikTok and its affiliates, and applications will be considered in the order they are submitted.

• Applicants must clearly state their availability (Start date, End date) in their resume.
• Summer 2026 Start Dates include: May 11th, May 18th, May 26th, June 8th, and June 22nd.
• Candidates who pass the resume screening will be invited to participate in TikTok’s technical online assessment.

Responsibilities (as a QA Engineer Intern):
• Collaborate with Frontend, Backend, and client teams on new privacy and security feature products.
• Contribute to building quality infrastructure for privacy and security feature products.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiar with Java/Python/Objective-C/Golang, with experience in related project development.
• Fluent in Python.
• Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment (e.g., USA) at the time of hire and throughout employment.
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to their degree program after the internship.
• Good understanding of RPC/REST API web services.
• Good understanding of the software development cycle and software quality and testing principles.
• Fluent in Python (reiterated, indicating high importance).
• Experienced in automation testing framework.

Compensation & Benefits:
• Hourly Rate: The hourly rate for this Campus Intern position in the selected city is $35.
