The company is structured with diverse divisions, including engineering, financial, legal, sales, and marketing. Showtime builds products for athletes, secures deals for them, creates social media content to enhance their brand, and provides legal advice, such as contract signing. They currently work with several high-major athletes, including Myles and Austin Herro, brothers of NBA All-Star Tyler Herro.
Job Description: Athlete Scouting & Research Intern
This is a part-time internship (12–20 hrs/wk) for the Summer / Fall 2025 period, lasting 12 weeks (September–December). It offers a hybrid work model in Chicago or is fully remote within the U.S.
This internship provides a front-row learning experience, allowing interns to work directly with former college athletes, Power Five signed basketball players, and a professional startup team. Interns will own research projects that feed into live scouting boards, recruiting decks, and team-strategy workshops, building a portfolio of work. The role features fast feedback loops with weekly 1-on-1s with a mentor and demo days with the leadership team. It is designed to be student-friendly with flexible hours, a remote-friendly workflow, and the potential to earn course credit.
Key Responsibilities:
• Player Data Collection: Track NCAA transfers, high school commitments, and high school athletes with recent offers.
• Social Media Breakdown: Log effective social media posts, brainstorm content ideas, and create short pieces designed to attract NCAA basketball players.
• Quantitative Analysis: Utilize in-house built dashboards to identify hidden value picks.
• Written Scouting Reports: Draft concise 1-page “quick-hit” profiles and comprehensive deep-dive dossiers on priority athletes.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Participate in strategy calls with the team, contributing thoughtful questions to advance discussions.
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student (any major) with strong analytical, writing, and social media skills.
• Relevant coursework in kinesiology, sports management, statistics, or computer science is preferred.
• Strong passion for sports; able to explain NIL, NCAA rules, and recent NCAA news, demonstrating a deep engagement with sports culture.
• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Proactive communicator who actively seeks feedback.
Logistics & Perks:
• Dates: 12 weeks (September–December).
• Stipend: $12.95 – $19.71 per hour, plus a performance bonus.
