Job Title: Flexible (The title for this role is flexible and will be determined in collaboration with the successful candidate based on their expertise and the primary focus of their contributions.)

Role Overview:
This pivotal role supports a nascent nonprofit as it forms a foundation focused on sharing scientific breakthroughs about Alzheimer’s. The successful candidate will be instrumental in a variety of key areas, leveraging a diverse skill set to drive initial operations, communications, and engagement efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the foundational stages of a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Coordinator: Take the lead on developing and executing strategies for the recruitment of volunteers. This includes identifying needs, creating outreach materials, screening candidates, and facilitating onboarding to build a robust volunteer base essential for the organization’s growth.
AI Leverage for Content Creation: Utilize artificial intelligence tools for the initial drafting of a wide range of communications materials. This includes, but is not limited to, presentations for stakeholders, comprehensive reports on scientific advancements, and internal communications designed to keep the team informed and aligned. A critical component of this role involves meticulous hand-editing and refinement of all AI-generated content to ensure accuracy, clarity, professional polish, and alignment with the organization’s voice and mission.
Outreach: Provide comprehensive support for various outreach initiatives. This involves ensuring the smooth logistical planning and execution of events or campaigns, as well as managing prompt, polished, and professional communication with external partners, including researchers, scientific communities, and media representatives.
Media Link Building: Actively assist in efforts to secure media coverage and build relationships with media outlets. This may involve drafting press releases, identifying relevant journalists, managing media inquiries, and supporting strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility and influence within scientific and public spheres.
