Job Description: Safety & Compliance Technician Internship
Position Summary
Liberty Packing Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Technician Intern in Los Banos, CA. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. The successful candidate will support OSHA compliance, conduct plant safety and chemical audits, and develop Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. This internship is designed for recent graduates from junior college or technical programs who are passionate about health, safety, and compliance in an industrial setting, aiming to build a long-term career in environmental health and safety (EHS).
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in ensuring OSHA compliance throughout the facility.
• Write and maintain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for all relevant equipment.
• Conduct regular plant safety audits and chemical safety audits.
• Monitor adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Support incident investigations and track corrective actions.
• Maintain and organize safety documentation and compliance records.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications
• Associate degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and basic workplace safety concepts.
• Strong written communication skills for creating procedures and reports.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Attention to detail and a proactive, self-managed approach.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and digital forms).
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
• Prior experience in food manufacturing or industrial safety internships.
• Knowledge of LOTO procedures or GMPs.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Compensation
The compensation for this position is $22.00-$23.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).
