Job Description: FCA Intern
The FCA Internship experience is a learning and developmental ministry opportunity designed for collegiate volunteers. Interns engage with various aspects of ministry through FCA during a summer or a semester.
Key Aspects of the Role:
• Purpose: To develop student-athletes in discerning their calling and career, and to introduce them to various aspects of ministry.
• Nature of Relationship: Interns are collegiate volunteers and are not considered employees.
• Compensation: Interns do not receive compensation by the hour or for the production of their work. However, they may receive a nominal stipend to cover living-related expenses during the internship.
• Variability: Internship experiences can vary from one location to another.
• Primary Goal: Regardless of location, the core objective of each internship is to develop the intern’s understanding of their individual calling to ministry through relevant training and experience.
Ministerial Duties (Critical to FCA Mission):
These responsibilities are central to the FCA’s mission and are expected to be performed with a surrendered heart to serving God as worship.
• Agreement and Adherence: Agree with and abide by FCA’s Christian Community Statement.
• Spiritual Rhythm: Follow a spiritual rhythm that includes daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord’s will for FCA.
• Spiritual Leadership: Lead, conduct, and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and living by example, equipping them to serve others.
• Church Involvement: Connect to and actively participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
• Conduct: Conduct oneself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA’s Christian beliefs (as outlined in FCA’s Christian Community Statement) at all times.
