Job Description
• Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Location: The position is located at the FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility in Milwaukee, WI, US.
• Work Arrangement: This is an ON-SITE job.
• Employment Type & Hours:
• FTE (Full-Time Equivalent): 0.500000, indicating a part-time position.
• Standard Hours: 20.00 hours per week.
• Shift Details:
• Shift: Shift 1.
• Schedule: Requires rotating holidays and rotating weekends.
• Reporting Structure: The CNA reports directly to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and also to the Registered Nurses (RNs) on duty during each assigned shift.
• Job Summary & Responsibilities:
• The CNA provides delegated, age-appropriate care under the direct supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Care must be delivered in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner.
• Key duties include assisting patients with tasks related to basic nursing skills, personal care skills, and basic restorative services, all as outlined in the patient’s clinical competency assessment.
• The CNA’s practice and performance are based on knowledge gained during their CNA training and certification, or from basic nursing courses completed at an accredited school for professional nurses.
• The role may also involve providing continuous safety observation.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Education Requirements:
• A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Licensure & Certification Requirements:
• Required Licensure: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required.
• Alternative to CNA Certification: Candidates may qualify if they are currently enrolled in a nursing program AND can provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses confirming successful completion of a basic nursing course (meeting all State of Wisconsin administrative code criteria) AND have a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation.
• Required within 90 days of hire: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent.
